REVIEW by @_Shoe_Girl_ : Woodrose Mountain by RaeAnne Thayne – Release Date 3/27/12 (@RaeanneThayne)

It’s never too late for love in Hope’s Crossing…

Evie Blanchard was at the top of her field in the city of angels. But when an emotional year forces her to walk away from her job as a physical therapist, she moves from Los Angeles to Hope’s Crossing seeking a quieter life. So the last thing she needs is to get involved with the handsome, arrogant Brodie Thorne and his injured daughter, Taryn.
A self-made man and single dad, Brodie will do anything to get Taryn the rehabilitation she needs…even if it means convincing Evie to move in with them. And despite her vow to keep an emotional distance, Evie can’t help but be moved by Taryn’s spirit, or Brodie’s determination to win her help—and her heart. With laughter, courage and more than a little help from the kindhearted people of Hope’s Crossing, Taryn may get the healing she deserves—and Evie and Brodie might just find a love they never knew could exist.

I would really like to say that I LOVED Woodrose Mountain as much as the 1st in the series,Blackberry Summer, however I can’t.  While Blackberry Summer had a really good storyline and characters, that momentum did not continue into Woodrose Mountain.  Although characters from BS were kept up with, the main characters in WM I found to be severely lacking.  I can’t pinpoint exactly what it was, but I could not relate to any of the characters.  They were MUCH too predictable, and far too “agreeable” to be realistic.  I did enjoy the “small town” setting, as I typically do, however that too left something to be desired.  It didn’t make me wish that I could live there, or at least visit.  I didn’t want to be friends with any of the characters.
Overall, an “okay” read.  I won’t be re-reading it, however I will be looking for the next installment of the series, as I like to see how all the characters end up once I’ve started a series.

I give Woodrose Mountain 2 1/2 Heels.
