(there wasn’t a real blurb, so I swiped the Netgalley one)
For the first time ever, creators J. Scott Campbell and Andy Hartnell introduce a new Danger Girl to the team!
Who is she?
What are her skills?
Where is she from?
What are her measurements!?
You’ll find those answers and more as she joins the world’s sexiest spy agency in their most explosive adventure yet!
I actually received an issue of Danger Girl, not an entire book, so my review is not as in depth as I would like it. Especially since I liked what I saw.
The first issue of what I would imagine is a new story arc introduces you to the main players and gives you a bit of action. Because it was only 42 pages (and some of those were ads) you don’t get nearly enough to form an opinion. That being said, I could form hunches. My hunch is that I like the characters, and i like the brand of action and adventure that they’re selling. I’ll be checking out the rest.
As for the art. I liked it. It’s got the stark outlines common in today’s comics, and that’s not a bad thing. It does that style well. I suppose I should be upset on the objectification front, but honestly? I’ve been reading comics a long time, and while I wish it was more viable for women to be covered, I’ve come to terms with it.
3.5 out of 5.
