High school senior Victoria “Tori” Reeve has it pretty good. She’s rich, she’s smart, and she’s popular. What more could a girl ask for? Sure, she’s a little lonely, what with being single and her best friend going off to college and all, but she’s got her work at the Spaulding Crisis Center to keep her busy. When she gets a new boss in the very easy on the eyes form of Isaac Larsen, suddenly her volunteer work feels a lot less like work. Even if he does seem to cause Tori to break out into spontaneous fits of foot in mouth disease. Somehow in spite of her blunderitis, Isaac still seems to be interested in her in a more-than-employer or even more-than-friends kind of way.
So really she should have known that things would go sideways.
Trouble comes to Spaulding, and that trouble seems to be centered on Tori and the Crisis Center. Is she really the focus? Or does this all have to do with the new mysterious man in her life? In her efforts to find out, Tori stumbles across some secrets. Skeletons that might have been better off left in the closet. As it turns out, Spaulding is a hot spot for bad blood…
For those of you who are still wondering if you should read ‘Bad Blood’ or not, I would strongly suggest…
‘Bad Blood’ is wickedly funny with insanely realistic characters, sexual frustration at its best, and a sexy vampire who is to delightful for words. I was instantly consumed from start to finish, caught up in the characters just as much as I was the story line.
I love that Victoria (Tori) is a strong confident young woman, beautiful, but doesn’t know it, with morals and common sense knowing there are consequences for every decision she makes. She’s genuine and sticking to her beliefs not willing to give up her “V” card to some guy who does and says all the right things. Her attitude was refreshing and I can only hope more young girls strive to be like her. She’s learning from the mistakes made by the people around her, which are often times life’s best lessons.
The men of the book are Drew and Isaac. Drew is Victoria’s best friend. He’s an attractive guy, who’s flirtatious and outspoken. Isaac is Tori’s boss and is Mr. Manners at all times. Both are equally handsome and flirtatious all on their own, but without a doubt from two opposites sides of the tracks. Drew’s feelings for Tori may go beyond the friendship zone and Isaac takes a liking to Tori at first sight, so I don’t foresee them becoming ‘besties’ anytime in the future.
Isaac’s sister Quinn is unbelievably addictive and is by far, my favorite character. Her hysterical personality is simply infectious, and I love how she becomes fast friends with Victoria. She has the ability to be blatantly-and at times- brutally honest, and in my opinion, those are the best kind of friends to have.
‘Bad Blood’ is a must read for everyone, filled with action, secrets, and drama that will have you highly anticipating its sequel.
My favorite Quotes:
Quinn: “Let me guess, he needs to pick up more condoms, and you need to ice you lady parts?”
Tori: “I’d rather be known prude or a frigid bitch than to be known as someone who’d wrap my ankles around you”
Drew: “You really are beautiful when you smile, you know that? Like an angel. Like my angel.”
Isaac: “When I collect, and make no mistake, I fully intend on collecting, it will be extremely forward of me.”
Thank you Ginny for giving me the opportunity to read ‘Bad Blood’ before the rest of the world! You are amazing!
I give ’Bad Blood’ 5 Stars!
