REVIEW by Kayla: Sin & Chocolate by K.F. Breene

Some people are ordained for greatness…

Those people usually have a lot of drama in their life. Drama I happily do without. I live in a forgotten corner of nowhere for a reason: there is safety in anonymity. I have enough problems just trying to get by.

But when Kieran, a sinfully sexy demigod at the pinnacle of power, crashes into my life, suddenly my whole world is turned upside down.

He’s harboring a deadly secret, one that could destroy all he holds dear. He thinks I’m the key to his salvation, and he wants me to help him claim vengeance.

He also wants me with a passion that burns my body from the inside out.

To ignore him is impossible, but to give in to my desires, even for a night, would thrust me into danger I might not survive.

Can I resist the temptation?

Kayla’s Review

Sin & Chocolate by K.F. Breene was exactly that the perfect sin! K.F. Breene’s newest paranormal romance checks off all the boxes for the start of an amazing series. Sinfully sexy demigod looking for vengeance and a clueless but stubborn as can be magical woman who really has no idea the trouble she stumbled into. The storyline has two POV’s Alexis’s and Kieran’s. The dual POV’s is something I’ve always been a little iffy about. I’ve read some works where it feel like the authors are struggling to get into a characters head space but recognize their part of the story needs to be told for the story to flow properly. Sin and Chocolate was not that type of story thankfully, the dual point of views was refreshing in trying to understand the demigods actions behind him seeking out Alexis so extensively. The readers really get to understand the reason behind his obsession for figuring out the mystery that is Alexis. Like with all K.F.’s work we get humor and a dash of sexy mixed in.

One of the details I didn’t like about this book was the lack of background to some of the main character, such as Daisy for instance. Her character played a big part in making this story what it was with her witty humor. I’m not sure if not including more information on her was intentional as maybe a novel for her character separately or if the author did not think to include her presence more in book two. Whatever the reason after finishing the story I was left wondering about the side characters almost as if they were loose ends.
Book two is said to release on January 1st and I’m hoping book two will be my favorite of this series!
