“I’m only telling you this because you won’t be able to tell anyone else.”

IF YOU WRITE A PIECE FOR THE CHALLENGE,

SO WE CAN ALL COME OVER AND READ YOU WORK!

For those unfamiliar with a flash fiction challenge, you’re given a prompt to build a super-short story around. You then post your story to Wattpad with your custom cover (see below) as a part of a word titled Flash Fiction Challenge – 2018 – Volume I.  The minimum word count for each challenge piece is 200 words but the story can be as long as you’d like it to be. For example, my first challenge (writing as Jena Gregoire) ended up finishing out at 1,669 words (for comparison, most full-length novels are 40,000-80,000 words long). See? Super short. 🙂

If you enjoy writing, whether it be as a hobby or professionally, you should consider joining! It’s a quick little activity every week to keep your writer brain in shape. It’s totally FREE and a lot of fun. 🙂

AUTHORS! Flash Fiction Challenge – 2018 Vol. I – Part II

THIS WEEK’S CHALLENGE

For this challenge, we’re giving you a “finish the story” prompt.
Rather than a piece of dialog to build on,
the prompt sets the stage for the premise of your story.

As humanity sends its first manned
expedition beyond the orbit of Earth,
it discovers humans are immortal,
but “Mother Earth” is actually a living organism
that has been consuming their life force to survive.
