Avon Affair

THE AVON AFFAIR IS A 14-DAY AVON BOOKS REVIEW EVENT
ORGANIZED AND HOSTED BY CURRENT AND ALUMNI MEMBERS OF
THE AVON ADDICTS.

Return to The Ether Chronicles, where the skies above the American West are about to get wilder than ever…

Bounty hunter Anna Blue always finds her fugitive. But her latest mission is filled with mystery: a high price for an eccentric inventor. And her biggest rival, Jack Hawkins—a startlingly handsome, entirely unsettling man whose abilities match her own—is hunting the same bounty. Neither will back down.

When a rogue Man O’ War flies his airship into the California skies, guns blazing, Anna and Jack are forced to team up or die. But it isn’t the danger that has them ready to flare like gunpowder. They’ve circled each other for years as competitors only. Fighters and outsiders, they never thought they’d find a kindred soul. As hot passion and raw need draw them together, can they survive this mission long enough to track the most elusive fugitives…their hearts?

INTERVIEW by Ginny: Cory Doctorow answers my Humble Bundle questions

I’m sort of geeking out a bit right now, and it’s because Cory Doctorow not only agreed to answer some questions regarding the new Humble eBook Bundle, but he did it really quickly.  REALLY QUICKLY.  Like in 11 minutes quickly.

The man is impressive.

Eventually this will sink in for me and I’ll probably giggle in a maniacal fashion before I pass out from my good fortune… so I should get this posted before that happens.

(this is where you click more for the interview) Continue reading INTERVIEW by Ginny: Cory Doctorow answers my Humble Bundle questions

INTERVIEW by Ginny: Gwen Hayes author of “Ours is Just a Little Sorrow” – Released today & an E-Book GIVEAWAY! (@gwenhayes )

Never thought you’d be reading the headline “Interview by Ginny”?  Well I never thought I’d be writing it so I guess that makes us even.  After reading “Ours is Just a Little Sorrow” though, I was totally amped to get to know it’s author just a little bit better.  The story is fantastic, combining romance and a creep factor that still has me shuddering in a futuristic steam punk setting.  How could you not want to crack open the brain of the woman who created that world and poke around for a bit?

Not that I would do that…

We should get on with the interview…

I got the chance to interview Rhiannon, but WHAT am I going to ask her?  I hate repeating the same questions that you’ve seen on 99% of interviews.  I TRIED to be somewhat creative and Hubbs (a fellow Rhiannon fan) even helped me out with one of the questions!  So, here we go!

INTERVIEW by M.J. Fletcher: Edgar Magnus of the Mapmaker’s Union (@fletch125)

Message from Jena:  As part of his blog tour, M.J. Fletcher has stopped by today to do a character interview!

My name is MJ Fletcher and I am the writer of The Doorknob Society Saga. I’m sitting in the Cape Beanery in Cape May, NJ. It’s a rather balmy night waiting for my interview subject to arrive, Edgar Magnus of The Mapmakers Union. One of the supporting, and it must be said, most popular characters in The Doorknob Society. Val has brought me a cup of her special blend of coffee and has been bending my ear with nonstop chatter ever since. “Edgar really is rather odd, I mean he is nice and all in his own way. But odd like a square peg in a round hole type.” She smiles in spite of her self and is busily playing with her curly hair as she speaks to me.

INTERVIEW by @kendrybird: Emily White, Author of Elemental

Just because Ella can burn someone to the ground with her mind doesn’t mean she should.
But she wants to.
For ten years, since she was a small child, Ella has been held prisoner. Now that she’s escaped, she needs answers. Elemental, Emily White’s taut YA sci-fi thriller debut (Spencer Hill Press, May 2012) confronts many of our greatest fears… darkness, loneliness and the power within each of us to become either the hero or villain in the plotline of our life. Ella must discover whether she will be the prophesied Destructor or if she will, instead, be destroyed.
Young adults understand better than anyone the tumultuous questions of growing up, and will be able to relate strongly to Ella’s journey to discover who she is.
I interviewed Emily for Pure Textuality, asking her the questions only a fellow author could ask an author. Join us for some thoughts on inspiration, symbolism, music and the publishing process.

COVER REVEAL: 'Nevermore' Cover Revealed and James Patterson Interview

The very first James Patterson book I ever read was The Lake House.  Not considered to be part of the Maximum Ride series, it does give you an intro and a bit of character background.  The Maximum Ride series went on to become rather successful for Mr. Patterson, even getting picked up for a movie (latest news says a 2013 release).
Today, the cover for Nevermore, the 8th and final novel in the series, has been released.  Here it is!

INTERVIEW: Amber Lynn Natusch, Author of Caged (@AmberLNatusch)

Two nights ago, I had the privilege of sitting and talking with Amber Lynn Natusch, author of Caged (from the Caged series). She’s a wonderful author and a lot of fun to chat with. For a taste of her personality, all you need is to read her take on the ‘About the Author’ blurb at the end of her book Caged:

If you’re dying to know more about me, allow me to put you at ease. I’m a sharp-tongued, sarcastic cancer, who loves vegetable smoothies, winter storms, and the word “portfolio”. I should NEVER be caffeinated, and require at least eight hours of sleep to even resemble a human being. At thirty-four, I just now feel like I can keep a straight face while saying the word “rectum” (which is actually a huge lie because I just laughed out loud while reading this to my husband). I live with my iPod firmly affixed to my body, drive too fast, and laugh/cry at inappropriate times.

Read on to see what Amber had to say about the adventures of being a novelist and her newly released book Caged…

NEWS: Coming Soon! Review of The Wolf Gift & An Interview With Anne Rice! (@AnneRiceAuthor)

Last night, while sitting up in bed listening to an infuriating Celtics game and poking around on the internet, my husband urged me to finally e-mail Anne Rice.  I have been talking about it for a few weeks now and just hadn’t done it yet.  I decided he was right!  It’s time!  I pulled up my e-mail account and started typing furiously….then staring….then typing FURIOUSLY….then staring….  When I was finally to a point where I was happy with the e-mail and didn’t feel like I was reading the words of a bumbling idiot, I stared a little longer.  Then I hit send.  As I did so, my heart leapt into my throat.  I just sent an e-mail to Anne Rice asking her for an interview….  Just before my third of fourth coronary event set in, I got out of bed and wandered the house foraging for snacks.  I came back, cereal bars in hand, and peeked at my computer.  The smile that spread across my face was unstoppable.  She replied!
